About the Shark Shoppe

The idea of the Shark Shoppe started after a home basketball game when two students wanted to show their pride for their school, but couldn't find any school gear. Finding shark-related gear with red and black St. Louis colors was difficult, so their solution was to start a store that specialized in completely original school attire. After some careful planning, their advisor and geography teacher, Gayle Janasik, received permission from the principal in 2005 and since then the Shark Shoppe has been in business. Every month, the Shark Shoppe tries to introduce new products and fulfill the suggestions of the students and staff. The store is staffed entirely by students chosen by the student council members. Students are encouraged to volunteer and work in the Shark Shoppe to aid the school as well as learn valuable employment skills.

Though the hours of the Shark Shoppe are currently limited, students and staff are planning to eventually open the Shoppe for longer hours to make it more accessible to the general public.
